In the month of July, 23 lakh accounts have been banned on the app, while 22 lakh accounts were banned in June. These accounts are banned as per IT Rules, 2021. The number of banned accounts has increased compared to last month. The company banned 22 lakh accounts in June, which has increased to over 23 lakh in July. 

The ban was imposed after feedback from users 

These accounts have been banned due to user complaints and rules violations. WhatsApp does not send ban notices directly to users. The app says that these accounts have been banned after feedback from users.  

Why are accounts banned?

These accounts have been banned for spreading misinformation, breaching cyber security and other reasons. Many users have complained of indecency or harmful practices. WhatsApp has received 574 complaints in the month of July. This platform has more than 40 crore users in India. These accounts have been banned by IT Rules 2021 , a company spokesperson said . In the month of July, the company banned a total of 23,87,000 accounts.
