Instant picture sharing and messaging app Snapchat down, reports reveal





Social media's instant picture sharing and messaging app Snapchat seems to have a flaw. There are reports from users that this app has become slow since early morning today. Many users could not send or receive messages on this app early in the morning. Downdetector, an online website that records outage conditions, reported that users were facing a major problem while sharing messages on the platform around 12:30 p.m. Application and server connections are also reported to be affected by the outage at this time.

Downdetector collects status reports from a range of sources, including reports submitted on Twitter, websites and mobile apps. Users have questioned this issue by tweeting. In a tweet post, a user asked, 'Am I the only one whose Snapchat isn't working right now?' Shared a screenshot of the message send failure in the inbox when the message was not being sent. Another user tagged Snapchat's official handle and asked, 'Is the system down now?' However, there is no official statement from Snapchat yet regarding the issues faced by users.

According to a report by Statista, India is the largest market for Snapchat with over 14.43 million users, which is about 3.7 million more than the US users. Most of its users are young people under the age of 35. About 85 percent of Snapchat users are under the age of 35, according to the same data website's one-year-old data.
